I can't believe she's almost a year old either!!

When I think about getting pregnant, 9 months to give birth seems sooooo long. And then thinking about breastfeeding for a year+ seems even longer. I def. want to breastfeed as long as possible though. (Well, not tooo long ;) )

I am definitely looking forward to your tips. I am not sure if I am just being impatient and not giving changes a chance to work (very possible since I have an impatient personality, LOL) or if I'm just having no luck boosting my supply? I don't think the Fenugreek is going to work out for me, Katie reacted badly to it both times I tried. I am going to try the MM tea again next week. For now I am just eating oatmeal every day (which I just started this week) and drinking a lot. My schedule is: early AM nurse (usually between 4-6am and twice is possible depending what time she rises), 9AM pump, 12pm pump, 3pm pump, and then she usually nurses 2-3x after we get home in the evening. She has pretty much been STTN at this point (as have I!), from 10 or 11pm until anywhere between 3-6:30am. So I think on a good day that totals to 8 sessions of nursing + pumping, maybe that is not enough? I just added the 9am and 3pm pumping sessions in on Tuesday so maybe it's too soon to see the results? I get, on average, 2 oz at each pump from both sides combined. As far as nursing beyond a year, I think you need to do what feels right. We all had these preconceived notions about what we "thought" was the right plan before the baby arrived and one she's here it kind of changes things. That's ok. :)

I think you'll know when it's time to wean ... plus, as Lucy gets a little older and more adept at table food, she will be a good indicator of when to stop! There are some (my SIL one of them) that fed up to age two ... it's not out of the question! In all things parenting .. we have to do what we are comfortable with and what works for our kids...just like snowflakes...there are no two the same, ya know? Enjoy your time with the parents!
