Well, that's what I was hoping...that you just get things in line & go forward. You eat pretty clean -- most of the time, so its surprising to me that like Shaun says, there is so much wrong. Thank goodness it is all manageable.

I too, was struck by the u/s wondering if .....

Hugs to you. Thanks for putting it out there!!

p.s. Doctors are supremely frustrating, if you're a woman and it is not a "virus", then it must be either stress, anxiety or because you're a working Mom. Been there.

you're also lucky that glutenfree has become pretty popular, so it's not like you have to hunt out your options (even if you do move to pa). and that you eat such a variety to start with -- my husband only eats raw lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, sometimes peppers, very rarely onions, and cooked green beans and tomatoes. that's IT. no legumes. no leafy greens. no squash. i'm pretty sure he counts "wings" as a food group. so you'd be SCA-REW-ED if you had that diet! (just trying to make you feel like it could be worse)

anyway, you're being quite brave, in case no one has told you.

Hey there! OK, first off, the ultrasound pic of Lucy threw me for a loop. I thought that maybe there was an ALTERNATE reason for you not feeling good. :) I'm glad that you have uncovered the source of your troubles and are on the road to healing! :)

Hello. :) Delurking to empathise with the stomach issues! I'm currently seeing a gastroenterologist because I've been having severe attacks of stomach pain since last April, and they've been getting increasingly worse. The worst ones so far have lasted as long as seven or eight hours without relief and have been so painful that I've vomited and almost passed out. My GP immediately gave me the blanket and totally unhelpful IBS label, however, as pain is almost my only symptom, I'm still doubtful that IBS is the answer, and I'm desperately hoping that the gastroenterologist will be able to do something and I won't just be left with, "It's IBS. Deal with it, and take antidepressants because they might help with the pain, while causing a lot of side effects." It's incredibly frustrating, I know, when you can't figure out what's wrong, or if it's a food that might be causing problems, and it impacts so hugely on your life. Do you mind if I ask what symptoms you've been suffering? If you'd rather not say, I totally understand. I suppose I'm just trying to see what other people are dealing with when they get labelled with IBS too. All the best with the new diet; I know that it can be very depressing and a lot of work trying to work out what you can and cannot eat!

I just read your post on your new eating restrictions, and at first I was feeling quite overwhelmed for you. But after reading this one too, I realized that your acknowledgement of the blog community you're already a part of is something to really consider. I like to believe that everything in our lives happens for a reason, and your life seems to be in a place right now where you are equipped to handle all of this better than many people would. You're going to be just fine. :)

So glad you have such a fantastic advocate in your corner--you! I am sending good thoughts your way and hope you find relief soon! Thankfully, there are many gluten-free foods available now.
